Kai vs. David – International Singles Matchplay

17. januar 2026

The tournament’s opening match play duel was cleanly settled on the winter course at Gyttegård Golf Klub, where Kai (DE) faced David (DE) in a classic meeting of newcomer versus seasoned competitor.

With a 14-stroke handicap advantage, David looked well equipped on paper, but it was Kai who burst out of the gate. Sharp, composed, and utterly unimpressed by reputations, Kai raced into a commanding lead and was 4 up after just five holes.

David gradually found more rhythm as the match unfolded, creating opportunities through the middle stretch, but crucially failed to convert when it mattered most. At the turn, Kai still held firm at 3 up, and the momentum never truly swung back.

The decisive blows came on holes 11 and 12, where Kai calmly signed for back-to-back pars—a standard David simply couldn’t match on the day. The contest was effectively sealed, and the match concluded 5&4 on the 14th hole.

For David, it was a visibly disappointing finish. He had hoped to mount a stronger challenge, but on this winter afternoon, he ran into a Kai in fine form—confident, controlled, and fully deserving of the victory.
